Otford and The Royal National Park

The Royal National Park covers 16,000 hectares of spectacular scenery, which is a riot of colour in summer with more than 700 species of flowering plants.
Many parts of the park, including Audley, Wattamolla, Marley and Garie Beach, are easy to reach by car from the Northern Illawarra and popular for day trips.
But the best way to see Australia’s oldest national park is to explore on foot via its more than 150km of walking tracks.
One of the walks most easily accessible is the spectacular walk that tracks the coast for 26km south to Otford from Bundeena in the north.
Visit the National Parks and Wildlife Service’s visitor centre at Audley or go online to the service’s website for more details about walking this spectacular coastline.
While in Otford you can explore the beautiful countryside on horseback taking in rainforests and waterfalls
with Otford Farm Trail Rides at Lloyd Place (ph 1800 642 749) who cater for all levels of riders.
There are also farm animals for the children to play with.
At the top of Domville Road at Lady Wakehurst Drive visit the Otford Pantry for delicious homemade apple pies (ph 4294 1243).
Also available are breakfasts and healthy snacks. The Pantry is open weekends and public holidays and is a great way to start or finish your perfect day.
