Thirroul
Thirroul, known as Robbinsville until 1891 was named after Frederick Robbins, a local land owner.The name Thirroul was adopted from the local “Thurrural” tribe.
Thirroul is a great place to visit, with its beautiful beach, Olympic-sized pool and many shops, cafes and restaurants. The village is divided into two areas separated by a bridge over the railway line.
Many services are available for visitors. There is excellent takeaway fish and chips available at Jolly Roger Seafood on McCauley Street (ph 4268 2421).
For delicious Thai food, visit Andaman Thai restaurant (ph 4267 2580).
There are a number of boutiques including Plume Boutique (ph 4268 5691) and homewares stores including Nest Emporium (ph 4267 2122).
Thirroul is also home to the Thirroul Bowling Leagues & Recreation Club on Station Street (ph 4267 1148) offering great food, raffles and trivia nights.
Ryan’s Hotel is situated on Phillip Street. It has three excellent restaurants (Little Italy 4268 0311, Thai Chill Out 4268 2381 and Ryan’s Hotel Bistro 4267 1086) as well as its Tuscan beer garden.
